Since Lycos limits its packets to 512k does that mean 3.5 is off limits to me?

The whole upgrade went like a dream until the 3rd step of the last process.

Was hoping to see this solved in the final release...

Lycos hosting has a number of issues.

Although this is technically not a bug, post this in the 3.5 Bug Tracker so a Dev can have a look. There needs to be a way to get around this limit.

      Thanks for the tip Steve!

Your colleague Mike offered a solution within a couple of hours, simply amazing!

Here's the answer for those who like me are faced with this problem:

        Hi,

I have had this problem too with a new installation. Should this solution work in this case?

I am a php novice. Do I just make these changes in Wordpad, upload and then start the install procedure again?

        Many thanks for any help.

        Regards,

        Jamie.

Although I cannot make any comments on your specific problem, it did not take much effort to do the editing (it was a matter of cut and paste...).

Thanks for your reply. I have tried it and am having no luck. It results in the following:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /data/members/paid/p/o/mydomain.com/htdocs/forums/forums/includes/adminfunctions_language.php on line 815

I think either I have done something wrong or maybe this fix only works for upgrades and not new installations.

            Anyone know?

Try it with mine, this attachement is the file I altered and which functioned as promised. You only have the change the file name.

But you could be right that it only works with an update, since my error only occured while updating (a clean install should have been no problem).

              Perhaps you have another problem?

You need to take down that file. I know you mean well, but redistributing the files in any way is not allowed.

My apologies, indeed it was not my intend to do something illegal or contrary to Jelsoft policy.

Looks like the file was removed.

Makes sense...should have thought of it beforehand.

                    Thanks anyway rhorta.

I have got it working now and managed to install the board.

Now to contend with the Impex problems!
