When is the Thread Views counter increased ?

Hi,
just a simple question before I buy this. when is the thread views counter increased?[list=a][*]every time somebody access the thread or[*]every time a guest access the page and only the first time a member access the page?[/list=a]
short: is the counter increaded every time a member views a thread or only the first time when he/she visits the page ?

If it's a) can anybody tell me if there is a hack changing this ?

As far as i recall, the views counter is incremented each time anyone views the thread.

Theoretically, you could bump the view count of a thread up to a million all by yourself...

Altering the code to prevent this would require some fairly major changes in the database, and is unlikely to happen.
