Nested Quotes

Hi!

I just realised that my imported users from phpBB2 cannot use nested quotes

I searced the forum but I couldn't find a clear answer. I understand that some users may like that but my users certainly don't.

Please give a solution. I have 3.0.1

This feature is currently not in vB. You would need to modify the code. You can try asking over at vbulletin.org.

I think that you should have given this as an option. This is minus for your software. This is my opinion and not necessarily the correct one.

It is already in the suggestions since Nov 2003.

Will this do the trick?

$pagetext = trim(strip_quotes($pagetext));

In newreply.php. Remove the call to strip_quotes there.

There must be a way. All nested quotes have been imported into VB from phpBB2 thanks to Jerry (who told me that VB can do nested quotes by the way).

This is so useful to have especially if you have 2,000 users used to it.

The nested quotes work in PM's. Why do you have it there? I searched vb.org but there is no hack for it. There must be a way of changing this. I really need it.

I don't know why it's not included. If you want the Developers to notice and consider this, then please post in the vB3 Suggestions forum.
