Uploading Error

I seem to have an uploading error. When uploading an attachment i get this error and it does not upload:

Warning: move_uploaded_file(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/tmp/vbupload3243) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/www/) in /home/www/gamerzwo/forum/includes/functions_upload.php on line 60

And when uploading Avatars it does this error and does nothing :

Make sure safe mode is turned on in your Admin Control Panel under Options -> Server Settings and Optimization Options. Also make sure the Temporary directory is one you have access to as a user. Usually something in your home directory.

I tuned it on recently to solve the avatar problem in bug report and then tryed it and got this error

I just made a folder called tmp likle it said. I set the CMOD to 777 and it appears to still not be working

You have open_basedir restrictions on your server. To get uploads to work you need to create a 'tmp' subdirectory under the /home/www/ directory and chmod it to 777. Then in the Admin CP set "Upload In Safe Mode?" to 'Yes' and point the "Safe Mode Temp Directory" to that directory. If you placed the tmp directory in the right place, the path to the Safe Mode Temp Directory will be:

/home/www/tmp

Ive setup the folder in the base dirfectory. Still dont work. The directory in admin reads /tmp shouldit be /home/www/tmp?

It will work if you have placed the tmp folder in the correct spot and have used this as the safe mode temp directory. What is the current error message you are getting?

If you can i can make you have access to ftp and admincp as im stuck completly

Can't do this with ftp. You need telnet or ssh access.

Then telnet into your server and go to the tmp directory you created. Run this:

pwd

What results do you get? Also are you sure this directory has 777 pernmissions?

Yes also im not sure how to telenet >.<
