How do I import a backup?

    Hi,

I'd like to restore my database from a previous backup. How do I go about doing this? I'm using vBulletin 3 Beta 7.

    Thanks for any help!

The only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. Please see the instructions here:

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

Is the vbulletin.sql file the entire database? I have one mySQL DB set up with only vBulletin on it.

It's probably the entire database but I'd need to know how you made the backup.

I just used the "Database Backup" option in vBulletin's AdminCP.

The Admin CP backup option may or may not create a complete databae, depending on the size of the db. This is because it is subject to PHP timeouts. Consequently the only way to know for sure if it's complete is to restore it and see what happens.
