This is extremely bad, I agree, vB managers jumped the gun on this entire situation and customers are pissed off, threads were deleted on this forum tonight because the feedback was so bad, I think unexpected by vB management.
I do think vB needs to make some changes fast, maybe scrap the entire release and promotion at this point and start all over.Comment

Posts aren't being deleted because of negative feedback - there's still plenty of that around.
They're being deleted because I don't think anyone needs 2 dozen threads all saying the same things. If it were my forum, I'd merge all of them into one ginormous mudslinging thread and tell everyone to knock themeselves out.Comment

Most of the problem is reading and comprehension of basic English. So many people jump the gun and scream bloody murder before understanding exactly what was written and why it is the way it is. Although, this is the Internet and that is the general rule: Shoot and then ask questions later. To be updated...Comment

It can't get much worse than this situation is, I think the Titanic had a better trip.
I feel current vB managers think that they have a captive customer base and that they are over confident to the point of where they feel they can do things that are not reasonable.
I think they need to pay attention to their customers and code products that we actually want, not what they think we want or what the "hot thing" in the marketplace is.
Social networking is hot, but so were blogs at one point, I just don't think taking forum software and creating social networks and blogging is the way to go.
I really don't think forum owners want to run social networking sites.Comment

So it's because my owned license has expired?
Then why the hell did vbulletin send me this email?
As a preferred customer with an active license, we are excited to offer the vBulletin Publishing Suite at a pre-sale discount price of only $130 (over 50% off regular price). This is a truly limited one-time special offer giving you $120 off the upgrade price but will expire on Friday October 30, 2009.
Hey vbulletin you greedy bastards, this is the greatest single PR disaster I have ever witnessed.Comment
