Increasing text page by length.

On post reply function, I have increased my smilie capacity.

The text message box does not conform to the same space now used in length by the smilies. IE: it looks funny, you have a white text box taking up half the space then just a plain blue unusable part of the screen.

I have looked everywhere and found that width change is no problem but can't find anything relating to length.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Oh I am no tech. whizz either, only just learning about templates, actually altering one..umm maybe not just yet.

You want to change the height of what exactly? If you can post a URL or picture that would be helpful.

In the case of our board the text screen is black. See how the available space to write your reply only covers half the screen.

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> « » -> Editor Templates -> editor_toolbar_on

The textarea height is a variable:

That variable is assigned in the construct_edit_toolbar() function in the ./includes/functions_editor.php file because the height of the editor varies depending on the type of editor (full editor, quick reply, etc).

Instead of modifying the files, you can make use of the "editor_toolbar_start" hook location. I recommend you post on www.vbulletin.org for help with a plugin for that hook.
