ubb transfer Qs

if I get the full version of vb set up and running for a while to test and then I import my old ubb over will what's on my vb now get overwritten?

when I transfer ubb what all is transferred? users, posts, user info, etc.?

is the transfer script for ubb 6.1.0.3 reliable?

I transferred UBB 5.45 into an existing vB forum without a problem. However I had different forum names and user names so there was no overlap. If you have differnet names, then there should be no problem. If not, then I really don't know how this works.

the forum names would be identical, which is why I was curious. I wanted to run the full version of vb for a while before I tried to import but I was thinking that if I did that then the people who'd already registered on the new vb board and their posts would be erased right?

or could I take the posts in the vb board, move them all into a temp board, then import, then move them back?

What you could do is change the names of the vB forums just before you transer. Then once the transfer is complete, simply move the threads in those forums to the approprate forum and delete the renamed ones.

I still have no idea what happens if you transfer the same user names though. I think that would create some problems.
