    Is it possible ?????

Is it possible to set a particluar forum area as a post only area where any registered member can post, but there can be no replies to the posts.

OR, is it possible to have the threads in a particluar forum ordered by start date as opposed to the date of the mostr recent post?

Many Thanks in advance for the help,

    Robert

    1. Yes
    2. Possibly with a hack that's available at http://www.vbulletin.org/

you can do this with vB by setting group permissions on that forum. Simply set the Registered group so they can post new threads but can't post replies. Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Permissions

i don't think there is an option to set a default for thread listings in a certain forum. regardless, there is no option to sort threads by their start date. as filburt suggested, if you post a hack request on www.vbulletin.org some one may be able to help you do this.

I know there's a hack similar to this (sort by a column) but I don't know if sort by first post time is one option you can pick. *shrug*

This thread is already started at vbulletin.org

It asks the same question posed by headsurfer.

Maybe if more people respond to that thread asking for the same hack then someone will take up the challenge.
