vB 4- CMS Suite to vB5 Questions

What happens to all the articles published in vb4 CMS? Are there different layouts & templates for the CMS Articles in vb5?? I can't find any sites running vb5 with decent looking articles to use as a reference. . . . Something that offers large bright photos, decent layout, etc.

The CMS part of my site is way more important than the forums, which have become obsolete over the years, people just don't seem to care about contributing to them anymore.

Articles are ported over but the layouts are different and the way they are configured is different.

A good example is probably Wayne's demo site here:
This is the top level CMS page that shows all categories that hold the articles on this site

We would recommend making a private test mirror of your existing site with a separate database, and upgrading that first, so you can see how things will look.

Ok guys, thanks for the answer. The articles layout in that is kinda ... sad looking, at best. I definitely don't want my articles to look anything like that!

That's pretty much a default layout. You should really upgrade a test mirror of your site, or even take out a temporary blank demo board: https://www.vbulletin.com/en/vb5-trial/

There are lots of sites with article pages that look good, the trouble is I cannot post customer site links up without their permission.

vB5 is all a CMS. You can make articles (or anything else) look any way you like. I would definitely take Mark's advice. Ultimately articles look much better on vB5 if you take the time to utilize the SiteBuilder and create custom pages.
