    VBulletin 5 Connect

Just purchased the software and I couldn't see any plugins until I had bought and registered. I just checked and there aren't any on offer! My team and I want our new forum to have some connectivity with an ecommerce solution as we will be selling physical merchandise like clothes etc. Can you suggest what we can use? Also will we need any third-party plugins to offer premium accounts or take donations?
    Thanks.

You can use subscriptions for donations via Paypal. No third party mod required.

For plugins you can take a look at vbulletin.org:
    vBulletin Modifications, vbulletin,forum,bbs,discussion,jelsoft,bulletin board,hacks,modifications,addons,articles,programming,site review

What ecommerce software do you use?

      vBulletin does not sell plugins.

We have a site for third party plugins, www.vbulletin.org. Look in the vBulltin 5 section under the mods tab. Note that we do not provide any official support for third party code.

I am curious to why vbulletin does not sell mods? It would be good for the revenue.
And the amount of mods currently available for vb5 is a bit disappointing compared to vb4.

Also it is nice to have the security that the mods will stay supported by vbulletin,

The company has never sold modifications, other than the brief period you could buy Blog and Project Tools for vBulletin 3. This is not likely to change. It would require massive resources to achieve, and the price would have to reflect that.

The overwhelming majority of site owners do not modify their sites beyond some basic style changes and a custom logo. It's very much a niche market and thus not economically viable.

Many thanks for the replies. EDITED
@chriske we aren't using any ecommerce software at the moment as the forum was a priority for us. @Mark.B Had a look at vbulletin.org which seems to be devoid of any ecommerce recommendations. I suppose we could just link in the head section of our forum to our shop as a separate entity.
Thanks again, can't wait to get the software installed.
