vBulletin 3 vs 4 vs 5

vb5 is superior than vb4 - because we can use sitebuilder to arrange stuff. You don't have limited position of ads with sidebuilder. You now have messenger. That is not available with vb4 or vb3. vb5 is coded mobile responsive. vb4 is not but has mobile style which has stripped a lot of stuff. vb3 not mobile. -
I've been using vBulletin a long time, since v3. v3 was great and fast, a lot of add-ons, etc. v4 came out, wasn't greeted so well and was a pig, now it's fine. Now I'm considering v5, is it ready, stay with v4, what are people finding once they move to v5? I have one site still no v3, rest on v4.
Looking on feedback as to where to go within vBulletin, not really interested in changing to another vendor for forum'ware. I just use the forums, nothing else.
Try to view these forums
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/index.php vB3
https://www.webmastersun.com/ vB4
https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/ vB5
Hope you will find the best forum version that fit your requirements.
I didn't agree with your reviews about vB 4 but anyway it is your point of view and everyone has different views. That can be understandable.

I have just kept upgrading within the 3.x branch, it still seems to work the best for my community. (Answering as a customer.)Leave a comment:

My usual advice is:
Why do you want to upgrade?
Upgrading for no reason is pointless and could damage your community.
What is broken on your existing forum that would require an upgrade to fix?
What features are you missing in vB4 that are in vB5?
There are valid answers to both questions, the issue is whether they apply to you.Leave a comment:

by EliasAlucardIt just doesn't feel like vBulletin, AT ALL. How much compatibility does it have with vB3 and 4? While vB4 brought some major improvements over vB3, it lost some of the classical vBulletin touch, but...
