Articles and blogs links in vb 4

These are pretty dumb questions but I need to ask. I checked the sales page which lists features but it doesn't go into any detail. I am looking at upgrading to vb 4.

In looking at the features, in the main navigation is says "What's new?" What shows up in this section? Is it an automatic feed of new blog entries? New articles? New forum posts?

It has an articles link, can this be turned off? I have another website where I post articles and that is pretty much all that is going on there and I don't want to duplicate content.

It has a blog link, is this for users to have a blog? Or is this the admin blog? Can it be turned off?

Under the main navigation is has a link "new events". Is this an event calender or some other 'new event'/activity of the website?

Yes both the Blogs are Articles links can be turned off. The entire system can be disabled by disabling the associated product in the Admin CP Product Manager, or you can remove just the "tabs" in the Navigation Manager in Admin CP.

The Blog system is blogs for any users you want, you could limit it to only blogs for Administrators if you wanted, but it is blogs for anyone to post on most forums.

In 4.2.0 What's New defaults to the "Activity Stream" like it does on this forum. You will see an entry for every blog, post, article, thread, calendar event, social group post, picture album post- basically everything that happens on your forum is listed here.

New Events are only calendar entries.
