    Sub Categories

    Hi.

Firstly if this is in the wrong place please feel free to move.

I am playing with the Demo software and have created a few categories / sub categories. When trying to hide the sub cats it does not seem to work. I have gone into Admin CP / Options / Forum Listing Display Options and changed the top three options, Depth of Forums - Forum Home, Depth of Forums - Forum Display and Depth of Sub Forums to 0 but i can still see the sub cats..?

    Any help is appreciated..

I assume we're talking about the VB4 Demo since those settings doesn't exist in VB5.

While testing this I noticed I did have to do a hard refresh (Hold down SHIFT key + Refresh) to see the changes take effect.

This is how I has my demo forum is setup:

Name:	subforums-vb4.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	72.3 KB
ID:	3691283

And with the top 3 settings in Forum Display Listing Options set to 0, 0, 0 everything is hidden except the "Main Category" link on the forum home page.

Not sure if you can post a screen shot of the forums but if you can (maybe use an image host) I'll take a look if we have a similar setup.

      Hi,

This is the demo option on your site [COLOR=#2A2A2A]vBulletin 5 Connect's Site Builder. As you can see the sub forums still show.

So you are using the vBulletin 5 Connect Demo.

In Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Forum Listing Display options the options you mentioned (depth of sub-forums, etc...) should not exist because they aren't options in VB5.

This is what the VB5 Forum Listing Display Options page should look like:

Name:	vb5-forumlistingdisplay.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	76.9 KB
ID:	3691284

        Are you seeing something different?

The demo version is out of date.

Sorry, those setting will be removed shortly, those options are no longer part of VB5. Demo is still Beta 24, I was using Beta 28.

Is there absolutely no way to collapse subcategories in vB5? Thanks.
