Support or the lack of same

I keep reading about questions of support for various aspects of VB and the reply always seem to be "We do not support this or that".
Or if a person wants to read or see what type of things are supported it is locked in some secrete room than only $250.00 will give you access to.
My questions before I spend money to access this secrete room you have is, what are you hiding from the general public? Why do you not support VB and all that it entails?

All support forums are public.

There are no secret support forums.

We have a customer only feedback forum.

Official support is provided for the unmodified product. We can't support it if you decide to edit the code or install 3rd party add-ons so we ask add-ons be disabled before and during support.
