    vB3 to vB4

    Hi all

My vB3 forum has served me well for many years, but I think it's grown stale and outdated and I need to move on with social integration, CMS etc etc..
Ideally, my next step would be vB4.

I have a custom header and footer which was fairly easy to integrate into vB3.
Is vB4 just as easy? As much as I like vB4 and its features, I don't want to keep the standard skin.

I have limited knowledge with HTML and CSS but am willing to sit down with this product and tweak it for my needs.

What are peoples experiences with this and are there some nice examples of customised vB4 forums.

Calling something "Easy" is hard to judge - a lot of things can be easy if you know what you are doing. Personally I do not find customizing VB4 difficult- Yes it is different than VB3 but far from impossible.

One of the most customized VB4 forums I've seen is from our staff member Mark B: http://www.bowlandcentral.com/forum/index.php

That is what CAN be done- you will not be able to do that in the next week, or month even, Mark has put many months of work into it, but it is possible.

On the other hand if you're someone more like me who had only a few hours and basic graphic skills you can easily come up with something like this: http://www.qapla.com/mods/forum.php

If you're willing to learn the VB4 way (over the VB3 way) you should have no trouble customizing as much as you did any VB3 forum.
