    vBulletin 5 Suite ?

With vBulletin 4 there was a forum version and a Suite version.

Will there be a vBulletin 5 Suite?

People who upgraded early with vBulletin 4 found themselves needing to purchase another copy (sort of speak) with that early $50 upgrade path. Once that path was over, they really had to "re-new" and buy the full product at full price.

Is this going to happen with vBulletin 5?

There is only connect. Not two option. You get everything with connect CMS, Blog and forum. But it comes out in phases, forum and blog, and later CMS.

The forum only version of vBulletin is no more. What is being sold would be the equivalent of the Suite.

What guarantee is there that another "Premium" version is not later released? Internet Brands / vBulletin does not exactly have a good track record on not trying to milk their product (or customers).

There isn't... However that isn't the plan now. We've never charged for features added to the vBulletin 4 Publishing Suite though so that track record is what you should look at.

Mobile Suite and Facebook App were always intended to be separate products and the Mobile Suite will continue to be so. The Facebook App will be included in vBulletin 5 Connect when it is ready. We also may leverage additional products that tie into vBulletin in the future. CMS and other components to the core software aren't envisioned that way.

Can you please tell me what IS envisioned to remain part of the core of vBulletin 5 and what is not ?

Also how many database queries does vBulletin 5 have loading a thread with 1 post vs the home page ?

Can only point you to this thread here:

I don't know how many queries different pages have. I've never really cared to look at it too deeply.

So the CMS will not be part of the core ?

                How about Groups ?

                Photo Gallery ?

All is part of core. The CMS will be a article system and will be phased in.

CMS will come later on in an update to vB5.

                    Groups are already in vB5.

Photo Gallery - depends in what way. vBulletin 5 has different approach at handling photos in threads for example. Give it a spin on the demo site.

                      In compared to this

Will there be an easy to find and use photo gallery?

And can someone please tell me how many database queries vBulletin 5 uses? I read some place that it is over 100+ database queries on just the index home page. Is this true and if not, what is the exact number?

Beta 13 has 48-55 queries for the homepage and they are still optimizing that issue. Page configurations and widgets used would effect the number of queries as well.

Assuming all available built in options for vBulletin 5 were turned on and fully being used, what would the database query total be?

Roughly... I can't guarantee that all betas will be released to the customer though. For instance beta 12 will probably never be released.
