A transferred vbulletin license can be charged back by the initial owner?

As the title states my questions is: A successfully transferred vbulletin license can be charged back by the initial owner?

    Thanks.

There have been cases when this has happened and the user is warned about this in the transfer agreement.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

      How would this occur?

The owner's not the one making a payment, it's the buyer.

Only the person making a payment can request a credit card company/paypal etc to make a chargeback.

If it's the seller making a chargeback, it's called a "refund".

We're talking about a charge back payment after the license would be transferred and then the license is revoked because payment was charged back.

But wait its a 6months period of time to for a bought license to be transferable ? So who can refund a 6months-old-payment?

It can happen, the original owner contacts VB and claims some type of fraud happened and requests the transfer back to them. It's a lot of work from what I understand, but it can happen at any time.

They don't even have to contact us, they can contact their CC company.

You have up to 2 years to chargeback a credit card payment....

Actually it is 90 days. Some credit card companies allow charge disputes or chargebacks up to two years after purchase. We are pretty good at defending against chargebacks where the software has been downloaded and used. However it is possible that our providers could rule against us and the license is invalidated due to refund of payment.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I was saying that a license is transferable 90 days after purchase, not 6 months. I wasn't talking about chargebacks.
