Upgrading vb4 to vb5 and using the CMS

    Hello everyone,

I am currently managing a website running the earlier vBulletin 4 forum without the CMS. Our current plans is to upgrade to the new vBulletin 5 and also be using the CMS.

Is that even possible for us to do and how will the transition be? Is it possible to upgrade without any problem from vBulletin 4 to vBulletin 5 including using the CMS being release in vBulletin 5 v5.1?

I will be looking forward to hearing from you.
    Thanks.

When 5.1.0 comes out you should be able to upgrade from vB4 to vB5.
    5.1.0 reintroduces the CMS.

How seamless will the upgrade be? The reason for asking is, that I have never performed a vBulletin upgrade before. It is very important that every post and attachment will be transferred to the new version with no losses.

In theory no content is lost however you should always take a backup and upgrade a test mirror first.
