    Purchasing Questions?

Ok, so I am real excited by the looks of vBulletin, but have a few questions on it.

    1. This is a 1 time purchase correct, no extra hidden fees after etc X amount of time (Except for add ons)?
    2. Does it have a limit of Users, or anything?
    3. If I purchase this license, and do not really like it after a while, is there a return policy?
    4. How good is the software?
    5. Finally, will it work with iPage host in well?

    1: Correct.
    2:No.
    3: No.
    4:Read the reviews about it.

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

Just to be a little more detailed

      1. You are correct, the VB5 license lasts forever, you will be able to download all past, current, and future versions of VB 3.x, VB 4.x, and VB 5.x with the license, but only use one live site at a time. You will only be asked to pay for add-ons such as our mobile suite or extended support plans. However forum support is available free for the life of the product.

      2. There is no real limit built into the software. Your hardware and server setup may provide practical limits but they will be very high... and MySQL itself limits the largest number used in many columns to 2^32 power or 4,294,967,296 - so you don't really have to worry about that.

      3. We do not accept returns after the software has been downloaded. Our VB5 Online Demo is currently broken, but you can try our VB4 Demo here: http://www.vbulletin.com/en/vb4-trial/ - To get a feel for VB5 use this site.

      4. VB5 is improving with release- new features are being added and bugs being fixed- keep this in mind if you read a poor review from 6 months ago many things may have been fixed by now, but to be honest, not all things have been fixed yet. If you find VB5 does not yet have the feature you want you could always run VB 4.x instead and upgrade to VB5 when you feel it is ready.

      5. To be sure go here- https://www.vbulletin.com/download.php - and download the test script. Run the test script on your server and it will report back if VB5 will run on your server or not.

The general minimum specifications however are-
      For vBulletin 5 Connect:

Minimum Requirements: vBulletin is designed to run on every server that has PHP 5.3 or 5.4 and MySQL 5.1.5 or greater installed. You must also have mod_rewrite, URL Rewrite or equivalent and you must upload the included .htaccess to your server.
It is recommended to use PHP 5.4, and MySQL 5.5 or later.

      For vB4 Suite:

Minimum Requirements: vBulletin is designed to run on every server that has PHP 5.2, 5.3, or 5.4 and MySQL 4.1.0 or greater installed.
It is recommended to use PHP 5.3.or 5.4 and MySQL 5.0.19 or later.
The software has been successfully installed on several different flavors of UNIX, as well as Windows 98/NT/2000/XP, and the Mac.
Note: We recommend you contact your hosting provider to verify that they have the correct versions of PHP and MySQL installed. If you administrate your own server, PHP and MySQL are available for free download from PHP.net and MySQL.com.
Also you will need full permissions to the database in order to install and run vBulletin
