Currently running 3.8.7. Need help on upgrade decisions.

I'm currently running 3.8.7. I'm trying to assess whether or not to upgrade to 5.x. Could use some feedback.
    1) How much pain will there be upgrading?
    2) How long will it take? Forum currently has about 85,000 members, and about 6 million posts.
    3) What are the benefits of upgrading? Is there a comparison chart showing new/enhanced features?
    4) Will I lose any existing functionality if I upgrade?
    5) Are there any important reasons *not* to upgrade?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi there, if you are a licensed customer, I would have a good look at the licensed customer feedback before committing to vb 5, maybe vb 4 would be better in the short term while you consider the move to vb 5.

You will lose all addons and styles, no exception whatsoever. But you really should consider the pain after upgrading.
      3) What are the benefits of upgrading? Is there a comparison chart showing new/enhanced features?
There's a list of missing features somewhere in the licensed customer's feedback forum, which surely you can access, can't you? It's a rather long list, but you can see that for yourself.
      4) Will I lose any existing functionality if I upgrade?
      Yes. See above.
      5) Are there any important reasons *not* to upgrade?
Yes. Not any, but many. But: Read the licensed customer's feedback forum.

That's all my opinion, of course - that's why you should build your own by - guess what - reading the licensed customer's feedback forum.

To be honest, version 3.8.7 is the best software using the vBulletin name, version 4 was ok after a few years, version 5 still looks like an early alpha/beta version, it's clearly a new developer team and it shows, just look at the reviews of version 5, and you will understand...

If I were you, I would keep 3.8.7 or go somewhere else
