    vBulletin5 and vBSEO 3.5

    Hi,

Been looking at the page -- http://www.vbseo.com/en/feature-matrix/

Are all features of vBSEO 3.5 already included in vBulletin 5?

    Thanks.

vB has nothing to do with vBSEO, so I doubt that the vB developers can "include" vBSEO in vB5.

That's correct....vBSEO is a third party product, nothing specific from third party products has been included in vB5.

Buy it if you really want to provide something to the community.

Google changes it's search engine algorithms all the time and this year it's penalised some of the previous "SEO" tactics that were in use. However, unique content remains king so if vB wants to do something about SEO it would be better off speeding up the replacement of the CMS (which some of us use for news) and the replacement of the calendar which is in vB4 but is not yet in vB5.

Personally, I can't see it, vBSEO has nothing for vB5 and that's where the focus is now so it would mean starting from scratch anyway.

Also personally, I'd rather resources be spent on something that actually adds value to the product and end user functionality, rather than on trying to fool search engines.

forget about vbseo, from what I'm seeing, the company is all washed up. Waste of time and money. I have it installed and wish I never.
              Cheers!

In their defence, some people swear by it. I never did, though I did use their free sitemap add on (and still do) and I will confess that's a very good product. I would never use the main product though. I firmly believe there was never any need for it.

                  Thanks everyone, for the feedback.

vB5 comes with a built-in SEO. Can anyone guide what features it has?

Is vB5 better than vB4 in terms of SEO. Or is vB4 with vBSEO a better option??

I'd vote for VB4 with "Advanced Friendly URLs" turned on and no VBSEO.

From what I hear VBSEO is unsupported now, it would be unwise to install it on a new forum. It was never necessary to begin with.

Many thanks Joe. Requesting guidance with just one last doubt.

How different is "SEO Friendly URLs" of VB5 from "Advanced Friendly URLs" of VB4? Is what ways / which features can one rate VB5 better than VB4 ?

VB5 URLs put the channel (forum) name in the URL, as well as the thread name, much like VBSEO does on VB4. While this may add more keywords to the URL (generally good for SEO) it can also add irrelevant keywords if the forum has no specific topic, which would not help SEO. Look at the URL of this page -I'm talking about the vbulletin-sales-and-feedback part.

VB4 Built in Advanced Friendly URLs do not include the forum name, only the thread title.
