    Installing Vbulletin on Godaddy Servers

Hi, I am going to buy VB5 connect. I just wanted to know will it work on my godaddy servers without any speed issues. I have a max limit of 64MB on RAM. Also I am on the shared hosting plan.
At any time I just have 50-60 users active. So can it be done? I saw on one go-daddy forum post they said yes but I still would like to ask. Also at this time should I install VB5 or VB4?
Also till when will VB5 keep receiving fixes and updates?

    Hello

Most of GoDaddy's shared hosting plans run an old version of MySQL that will not work with vBulletin 5.

Eevn if you managed to get past that issue, GoDaddy's shared plans do not work well with vBulletin. I would strongly urge you to consider a different host...there are many of them about. Have a read of our vBulletin Hosting Options forum.

Your vB5 license would cover you for all updates to the vB5 series.

      Strictly vB4.

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

Check which version does meet your requirements best. If you don't need a CMS at this time, you should probably start with vB5 right away. However, if you truely need a CMS, then you can only use vB4, since the CMS hasn't been added to vB5 yet (although it will come soon).

There is no ETA for vB5 yet (as there isn't for vB4 either). Usually a software cycle last for about 2-4 years, but no one can say that for sure. Since vB5 is relatively new, expect it to be supported for quite some time.

Why are you using Godaddy? It's probably the very last host I would choose. You can get far better for the same price or cheaper.

This should be your best place for getting good servers shared, vps or dedicated for good prices http://www.webhostingtalk.com browse around for the companies then request a quote and see their servers specifics.
