    Question re: domains and licensing

    Hi,

I had a question about the licensing as regards domains. It is stated that the license for vB is for a single domain, does that include subdomains? The reason I ask is because I was thinking of buying the vB CMS edition for my company site, but I want to have the CMS at the main site with at domain.com and the forums at community.domain.com

Is this possible with the licensing model vB uses?

    Cheers,

The vBulletin license is not for a single domain.
It is for a single active installation.

What you're talking about is fine, but we do not support moving the forums/cms/blogs to subdomains.

That much is very doable on the technical side. What I was more worried about was the licensing.

Provided you only have one installation of the files, you can move it anywhere - just ensure you update the Members Area with the correct URL
