Hello, I have an important question I need to ask before buying your software. I need to know how to be able to make my forum exactly as I want it. I mean, i've been looking for vB skins all day and I couldn't find anything that didn't look like it was created two decades ago... Is it hard to change the default theme to make my forum look like I want? I noticed there is a way of doing it by working with firebug on firefox, but is it the only way? Or maybe there can be found some decent, pure and clean skins on the internet? Thanks for help everyone

There are themes available for vB4 (and for vB5 I guess). When you use themes, they usually don't require custom work unless you want something specific being changed. With enough knowledge you can also create your own theme of course.
On this site there are no suggestions being made for any third party product other than those your can find at vbulletin.org, so if you are looking for themes, you might find them using Google. -
A couple things to remember, every update from vB could and more then likely will break your theme. Right now vB5 is in a state of getting close to being release quality thus there will be a lot of updates (granted very slow updates) so be prepared to consistently fix your themes. If you purchase from a 3rd party make sure they will update as quickly as a new update is released.
It's one of the many reasons my forums are still on vB3.8.x. Because vB4 contently broke my custom theme and why most 3rd party theme devs left or dropped support for vB.
Good luck either way and make sure you do your homework.Comment

I would suggest getting to grips with Firebug, this will take a week or 2. Worthwhile in the end...
And when 5 becomes stable, you will have enough knowledge to perform quick and accurate customizations at will...Comment

Bottom line is the more you know about HTML and CSS the easier it will be for you to customize your site. Pretty much anything can be done with CSS and Firebug and some template edits. Optionally you may prefer to use our "Style Variable" system which includes an interface in the Admin CP to make quick changes to popular parts of the site, however if you don't know the particular stylevar you are looking for it is often quicker for an experienced person to make the change via Firebug/CSS/ and a template edit. The Stylevars tend to be best for more basic edits for people not as familiar with CSS.Comment

by TLMDIt won't be too long until vB 5.1.0 is being released. No, there is no official release date available, but I am pretty sure it won't take six more months or something. Anyways, the release of vB 5.1.0..."Mass bug-fixing"50.00%19"Bug-fixing strictly based on votes"5.26%2"Feature-parity with vB4"39.47%15"Other" OR "Continue the way it was done in the past"5.26%2
