VB 5 doesnt work with non english usernames!!

    Hello All ,
Today i tried your demo forum to see how vB 5 is perfofming !
In the very first step it failed !
I tried registering with a non Eglish name(حسین) and it failed .
the registration goes on though, it even sends you the registration conformation email , but when you try to log in , it says such username doesn't exits !!
if you try to register with the same username again , it wont give you an error implying this is an existing username as it does for English (Latin) usernames.

So it would be a good idea to fix this problem prior to declaring it final .
    Regards

We do not recommend using VB5 with languages other than English at time time. Localization (the ability to customize the board language(s)) will come in future versions.

For now we suggest using VB 4.x if you need a different language.

Localization is one thing. But not being able to use usernames with non-Latin characters? UTF-8 support anyone?

If you check the database,is there a new user in the database, if so what is the username in the user table of the database?

Please comment on this bug report: http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBV-6409

This exact issue was supposedly fixed in 5.0.0 RC1. Please comment with your server setup info (PHP version, MySQL version, Database collation) and click the "Petition to Re-open" link. If you don't mind posting a public URL to test that could be helpful too.

OK. well this issue has been fixed on the VB 5.0.0 Released version. Our Demo site still uses the older Beta 24 version before the fix was made. Makes sense now why you got the error.

Non English usernames are working fine for me. I have a Bulgarian forum and one of my users registered with a Cyrillic username and it is working OK. You can see an example: http://forumburgas.com/member/36-ивка
