    no new release?

    no new release after 5.0.0?
even in JIRA, there is no new version, no new package after 5.0.0

    You know the answer:

(Long version) We are working on the next update with all our effort, trying to fix as many bugs as possible, though focussing on issues of high and highest priority for now. The next release will be published after it has passed QA, which should happen in the near future. Maybe this will happen within the next two weeks, but we can't tell a specific date, as the release of version 5.0.1 is not in stone yet.

    (Short version) Soon.

You could find yourself a place on the support team with words like that. Spoken like a true professional.

What the heck are you on about? vB5 has been in beta for months and now is in "Beta Gold". It's barely usable as is. And while vB5 is is development, updates to vB4 have stalled. Do you really want anyone working on vB6 at this point?

I don't think he is talking about vB6. He just wants to know when vB 5.0.1 will be released.

There are so many critical bugs in 5.0.0 and you are taking a month for releasing 5.0.1??? Just rush the things and release it faster with the bug fixes... I am not sure that your management team is realizing that there are live sites using the vB5...

from what I see is they keep searching for a new bugs, rather than fixing the exiting bugs.

this will be a never ending cycle.

            fools!

For the time being, there will be around a month or so between releases. You can view whats upcoming in each version by checking out the bug tracker and seeing what is assigned to the release version.

We get it, but is isn't acceptable... At this stage the product have too many critical bugs and our users are getting very angry and we are loosing money. Please talk with your management and try to explain that those have to be fixed faster.

It isn't realistic to keep up with 1 release a week. It requires a ton of effort on QA's part (more so than the developers). 1 a month is way better than 1 every 3 months.

Experience shows that rushing will actually just create more issues.

But releasing a horribly bug-ridden version was acceptable?

What you're basically saying is that a real "gold" (i.e. usable) version of VB would have been months away but you were rushed to release by management.

With all due respect Wayne, how do you call the release of the "gold" or out of beta version or whatever you want to call it? Wasn''t it a rush release would you say? In that case, my question is, why do you keep doing the same mistakes over and over again? (I do not mean you personally btw).

You called me by name. So I figured that you meant me personally. I guess that was wrong.

vBulletin Connect 5.0.0 is out of beta. We are not using the gold terminology. I didn't make the decision to release it or the terminology to use.

It is not decisions that people like Wayne and Zackery make. It is the IB people, they are the ones with their heads up their hind quarters. Wayne and Zack just get to pay for all IB's stupid decisions here on the forum. Props to you guys and all the rest of the staff here on the forum. You guys do a great job in spite of the bone heads above you.

I think the boneheads above will drive this software into the ground. Does anybody try to reason with these business types?

they talk too soon too early to the public.
they've made promise that they can't keep.

they just give a negative surprises to the customers.
