you said " we have created an option for customers to renew their expired 3 series owned license. "
you didnt said that its an offer for awhile

you said " your license expired in the 12 months prior to purchasing the extension, "
my license still have 3 or 4 months to reach 12 months

            by the way

when i purchased my vb3 there wasnt any thing named vb3 license and vb4 licence
there was 1 year license and " owned license " = 180$ usd

its too much to pay 175$ to get vb4 license

why then you called it owned license ??

Jelsoft was sold to Internet Brands.
The old licensing agreement was updated to reflect the new maintainance and pricing structure.
If where to update to vBulletin 4 within the vBulletin 3 license (or maintainance pack), you would have to agree to the new vBulletin 4 licensing agreement before being able to download vBulletin 4.
This all happen a very long time ago.

I'm not quite sure how that's possible, since the vB3 license was discontinued in November 2009, 15 months ago.

It is possible if they paid for a 12 month renewal and the renewal expiration date has not been 12 months since the expiration date of their renewal.

Yes he did. The Maintenance Pack is no longer available for purchase. To get newer versions of vBulletin, you will need to upgrade your license to a vB4 license. The cost to upgrade your license to vB4 Forums is $175 and to vB4 Suite it's $250. You can view the differences here:

To upgrade your license go to http://www.vbulletin.com/order/

At the top of the page click the Customer Login button, and after you are logged in, click the Purchase button.

There you will find the ability to purchase new licenses, and if you scroll down the page, there is the option to upgrade existing licenses.

If you are upgrading an existing license, in the Upgrade Options column, select the license you want.
                              Vote for:

                              - Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe (vB6)
                              - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s) (vB6)
