    UBB to vB Converter >>>

I'd like to switch over, but I installed the UBB beta a few days ago. I probably should have held of, but I wanted to take a look and see how the beta would run.

Anyway... Will the vB converter work with the 6.2 Beta UBB?

Considering I and most of the rest of us didn't even know that 6.2 existed, probably not.

Heck, we just got the 6.1 converter out

Seeing as you're the first customer to ask, and I don't think we have access to a UBB 6.2 copy to try it on, the only thing you can do is try I guess. If it doesn't work, then I'm sure one of our developers would be able to work with you to create a convertor.

If you would be prepared to give us access to your UBB (or send one of the developers your data files), I'm sure we'd be able to get an importer created for you. But you might have to purchase a license first - I'm not sure.

It may also be that UBB 6.2 doesn't change the data files much. Though from what I can see on the announcement, a fair bit looks like it's been changed.

If UBB carry on releasing this frequently with major changes, we'll have to hire a dedicated developer just to do new UBB convertors whenever they do a new version

I think the UBB 6.2.0 member/threads code is exactly the same as UBB 6.1.0

In fact - I will test myself on my local pc and tell you the results

The impression I got from the Infopop website was that the user format may have changed - I might be wrong though

I just downgraded back to 6.1.0.3.

The converter is 100% compaitable with 6.1.0.3, right?

Assuming they didn't change anything between 6.1.0.0 and 6.1.0.3, correct.

(Although I wouldn't put it past them...)

Yes it works with 6.1.0.3 as that is the version I used to make the changes.
