Basically any server that can run Windows NT should be able to run vBulletin. Of course this depends on the level of activity on your forum, but any server can install vB and use it with a few members.
Disk space is less than a megabyte (about 600k if I remember correctly). Ram and CPU depend totally on the number of active members you have - but requirements are extremely low for a new board. -
Thanks for replying!
Let me give you a little more info. I work as a programmer for Broderbund software, the company wishes to host the forum on a server by itself. I need to submit the cost of adding a forum to our site before I can purchase this software. So I need a rough est of what type of system I will need to host this product and keep up the speed. We are guessing that 200 users will be active at one time.Comment

For 200 users on a dedicated server you'll probably want
- 1.0GHz (or better) processor
- 1 GB to 1.5 GB RAM
- Disk space is primarily dependent on how active the users are. 10GB is probably a little large for 200 users but it can't hurt to have extra space. 15GB might even be better since WinNT can be space-hungry itself.Comment

I would think that 10GB (or even slightly less) disk space will be fine - but as Kevin said there's no harm in getting more, especially considering the price of disk space at the moment. NT 4 isn't particularly space-hungry - it's mainly 2000 that is.
I remember answering a question from someone at Broderbund in our support system a couple of days ago I hope you go on to purchase.Comment

by GrumpytooThe recommended 200MB of server space required.
Is that for the initial install and running a forum there after or would a forum with some posts and pictures exceed that?-
