    vb 4.1 upgrade

I'm sure this information must be buried in here somewhere, but I can't find it!

Does a license for vb 4.0 entitle you to upgrade to 4.1 when it's released, or will I have to buy it again?

You may upgrade without buying it again.

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

I thought about that...but...I doubt it will make it that far. Nevertheless, you should be correct!

I believe the License Agreement has been updated to provide a little more clarity on this but as stated above, a vB4 license allows access to all vB4.x releases.
            Vote for:

            - Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe (vB6)
            - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s) (vB6)

Spoilsport! There were some fantastic conspiracy theories on this knocking about. I rather enjoyed them.

But where do you get the latest update? I just installed 4.0.1 but I don't see where I would install the upgrade files. Have the files for 4.0.1 (on the member download page) been updated to 4.0.7 - but the download link still says 4.0.1? Also, my install.php file says 4.0.1.

                    Thanks for any help.

                    Brian

That is because you maybe got an vBulletin 3.x license that is expired the time of expiring is the date to see the 4.0.x downloads. So if it expires on 04-04-2010 and vBulletin 4.0.2 came on 05-04-2010 you can not access 4.0.2. The only solutions there is is to renew the vBulletin 3 license, but that is not advised because it will not be there forever and if it expires then you have the same problem again. The best solution is to buy vBulletin 4 license then you can test and still run vBulletin 3 on a live server, please note that you may not use vBulletin 4 and 3 at the same time publicly.
