    phpBB ===> vBulletin

    Is there a converter for turning phpBB 1.4.2 into vBulletin? Also, how do you get the latest versions of vBulletin? Do you have to pay for an upgrade or is that covered in your payments?

    There is currently no official importer for phpBB; however I believe there is an unofficial one at vBulletin.org.

    When you purchase a license for vBulletin, you can either buy a Leased license or an Owned license.

    The leased license entitles you to run vBulletin for one year and allows you to download, for no additional cost, any upgrades/new versions that are released within that year. At the end of the year you can either renew your license or stop using vBulletin. It currently costs $85 per year for a leased license.

    The owned license lets you run vBulletin forever; it includes one year of upgrades/new versions for no additional cost. After that year you can purchase an additional year of upgrades/new versions for (currently) $30. You do not have to purchase this to keep running vBulletin, but you must if you wish to get new versions. The owned license is $160.
