Update: Please note that we are delaying the release of 4.0.2 because we are working to improve the quality of this build, primarily issues related to RTL languages and IE browsers. Currently we are targeting the end of next week for this release. While we know this will be a disappointment to some, we feel that it is more important to get these issues resolved in this version rather than pushing them to a future one.
Any news on Project Tools?Comment

When you have hundreds or thousands of lines of code, it's not unusual to find a bug in one line and fix that, only to discover that changing that line has created a problem somewhere else in the code.
That's not unique to vBulletin.
My only complaint about all this was the initial release of 4.0 Gold. That was NOT a Gold version. We still don't have a Gold version. We're still working through RC5 or RC6.
I waited for 4.01 to upgrade on one of my sites because I was worried that 4.0 would be buggy. I honestly did not anticipate how many bugs would be remaining in 4.01... we're already looking to 4.03 or 4.04 to get some of the reported bugs fixed. That is NOT a Gold version. And that's just the forum. In its current state, the CMS is barely functional.
I never install betas or RC versions and had I known that's what was released I would have waited to upgrade. I'm certainly not going to upgrade my other site until a lot more bugs are fixed.Comment

It is not so good for debuged/mature product. It will tend to reintroduce fixed problems (we see it here, but no doubt product is not in gold stage). There is no need to rush, no need to do mongolian horde programming.
It is very bad idea for such rare situation, when top management names beta version gold, and annoys most of users with reintroduced bugs in bugfix releases.

I think they thought they had all of them fixed. But problems popped up again.
From 4.0.1 Blog.
We are currently working on 4.0.2 and this should be released in 2 to 3 weeks. Here is a list of fixes that have already been completed for 4.0.2:
• [Ads] Quote and Advert in First post content
• [Search] "Find All Threads" by person
• [IE6] All remaining IE 6 Compatibility issues
