Will we see a demo of the CMS before the presale ends?

I think it's a shame you have to worry about getting your thread deleted just because people spoke the truth... Thats not good modding to be honest.Comment

Maybe IP.Board won't become superior to vBulletin, but vBulletin can make itself inferior to IP.Board, which is what plenty of people think is happening.
And, a lot of it is about more than the product. Things like customer service, pricing, policies, management, etc. are all things to consider when evaluating a company.
vBulletin 4.0's alleged greatness doesn't make up for the major, major issues that are going on here.Regards,

Developing a new CMS system is not easy and sometimes pre sales is necessary to keep the $$$ flow.
We'll then try to customize it to completely match our actual website and use it instead of our actual CMS system.

Thank you for your support but I did not apply for the alpha or beta testing teams. When they were accepting applications, I was way to busy and didn't feel I would be a good candidate because of my time restraints.Plan, Do, Check, Act!Comment

Are there any sites out there already using the CMS? I cannot find a single example anywhere. The only place I've been able to find *any* information about what I'd be purchasing is at: http://www.vbulletin.com/index.php?do=screenshots , and that's just simply not enough information. If the new CMS is worth the extra money (I just renewed my license 2 or 3 months ago, so really, this is horrible timing for me personally), shouldn't VBulletin be providing something more than a dozen screenshots of the base, unmodified, vanilla-blah system?
I really don't want to sound trollish, and if I've just failed to use the search function correctly, please point me in the right direction. I run several different sites on different platforms, and I love VBulletin by far the most, and I'd love to have an integrated front end (and universal search), but I find it frustrating that I cannot find more information on this. The Twisting Nether Gazette

Only the Alpha sites and they are prohibited from making the test sites public. Once Beta is formally released to the Beta testers then that should change.
Also as per Ray's announcement we plan to have the CMS showing here soon. We are currently developing content for it.Steve Machol, former vBulletin Customer Support Manager (and NOT retired!)

I would like to know if there are any updates regarding the preview of the CMS and whether it will be available before the pre-sale period ends? With a few short days remaining on the pre-sale, I would like to see this action before making this type of commitment. Thank you.Plan, Do, Check, Act!Comment

I have been a long time supporter of vBulletin for a few years now. I run several sites as well as having authored countless unreleased modifications and a few public ones on vborg. V 4 looks really promising, I am sure it's going to be great, but I do have to voice my disapppointment with the terms of the presale currently being offered to existing active license holders such as myself and my clients.
Taking advantage of the pre-sale discount made available to active license holders is definitely something that was intended to be a 'goodwill gesture' by IB/Jelsoft towards it's existing customer base however for the following reasons I just can't participate under the following circumstances:
- the suite is still in beta stage
- there is no active demo of the suite available for me to check out - if others like Photopost, vbAdvanced and vbGeek, etc... can have demo versions of their products live for customers to test out, why hasn't IB/Jelsoft done so? This scares me...
- all we have had the chance to check out so far are several screen shots, and blog postings by the developers. With all due respect, it looks nice but screenshots and blog postings don't properly allow us to check out the suite in any manner other than heresay
- i am certainly not an employee of IB/Jelsoft but it doesn't look like vbulletin.com is even using the suite for the website's CMS content. I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem so - which causes me concern as well.
As stated above, i LOVE vbulletin and have utilized it as a backbone for many web projects and will likely continue to do so - but am just not comfortable doing so until the issues above are resolved to my comfort level. MOST OF ALL, I am really disappointed that it doesn't really seem like there will be any time to evaluate the suite before the presale discount offer expires this week.http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/image...avbit-home.png Eclipse Records - independent record company focused on active rock & alternative metal music

To the same tune, is there any chance we can see an extended pre-sale discount at least until the CMS is in in Beta and available to properly evaluate ?Comment
