My licenses are up to date and I already qualify for the upgrade to vb4 forum edition. I would however like to see a better demonstration of the CMS front and back to better decide if I should purchase it or not. Will a real demo of the CMS be released before the pre-sale expires?
Will we see a demo of the CMS before the presale ends?

Almost 1 week left before the presale ends. Please do us all a favor, can you atleast put up a demo site or even screen shots of the Admin Panel? also, can your provide us the full list of new features? The Community Suite even if its already discounted is still very expensive; I just don't want to invest on something that I cannot even see what is inside.
BTW, $235 is already my allowance for 2 Months. and I've been saving since last year just to buy an Owned License. so, Can you please provide us with something? even if its just a single screen cap of the admin panel?Comment

I'll toss out another vein of support for this. I truly cannot justify putting my entire site design behind a CMS solution that I have not even seen.
I need to be able to see VB4.0 CMS is comparable to other CMS on the market that we could already integrate. Some of the VB3.x front-end used AJAX and other on-demand scripting but the Admin side was always woefully behind. We have numerous robust options on the market and are only held to VB by our switching cost of losing existing post and forum activity. Not much time left before this pre-sale event closes and I am still shocked that no demo has arrived. Thankfully I have been able to use FireBug to examine the user front-end of the forum. A much-needed change to modern design standards is appreciated but not enough to make us put complete faith in the unproven product. A small note is that this 4.0 forum seems to be less responsive than even the 3.X boards front-ends. I have yet to decide if that is due to the inefficient and new code or a result of my computer's interactions with it. All of these redirect pages in-between user actions are equally annoying and depressing that they should remain in a new product release.
I'll be using that shiny new subscribe button to follow this one.Comment

Sorry there will be no public demo of the Admin CP prior to the Pre-sale ending. There are several Blogs that show screenshots of this though.

Does the CMS integrate through the existing AdminCP inside 4.0 in the same format that other mods such as Blogs and Project Tools? Or is the CMS intended to provide a brand new control panel experience?
I reference the Drupal, Joomla, and WordPress Admin panels when I reference a modern administrative CMS that integrates plugins and add-ons seamlessly to that same admin panel.Comment

I too would like to see a an acp screen shot also. It seems to me like the acp has not changed 1 single bit..I was in support of 4.0 but from the recent events I have to say 4.0 is pretty much a failure before the product has even finished. I had the impression that there was going to be radical changes to the scripts but it looks like hardly anything has changed. I think version 3.x + vbadvanced + blog is pretty much 4.0 with pricing tricks to go along with it. Sure there is a new buggy style, slow loading times, unfinished product, etc. Is there really anything positive? This is making IPB look like a superior script. I hope the jelsoft team makes a different company because this product is utter crap right now, regarding what has been shown and recent events.Comment

The admincp has not been reworked for the 4.0 release, I am told that it is going to be rewritten/redesigned for the 4.1 or .2 release.Shamil Nunhuck, - Radon Systems Ltd.

At least that's how it has been explained. As we've seen with IB though, things either 1) get changed, or 2) don't happen the way they should have. Regardless, it's only fair to comment on what is planned.Regards,

I take it you are referring to the AdminCP that exists in the VB Skinning in 10 Easy Steps blog post? If so, please clarify then, what changes have taken place within the AdminCP and how does the CMS integrate throughout the software? At present all I see in the 10 Easy Steps PDF are some depressing screen captures that indicate the AdminCP has not changed from its previously dated format.

Also:
- vBAdvanced is a portal; vB CMS is a CMS. Apples and oranges.
- The blog certainly seems considerably improved in vB4.
- Project tools is included, and this is something I will be taking advantage of (but wouldn't have otherwise).
- The server running this site is under considerably higher load than normal - the speed has nothing to do with vB4.Comment

Yes there is and that would be vB 4. Have you checked out IP.Board lately? They've even got a beta chat on display there. Go see their new "CleanCut" skin and see for yourself. They even have AJAX for attachments that beats the pants off of the new attachment feature on vB 4.
Now, I'm not knockin' vB. Because I think it does have potential if they got their act together. But when I click the "Blog" button and look at the layout, its "screaming" catch-up with IPB. I do remember vB 2 and when they went to 3. They were definitely ahead of their time but unfortunately this is a very competitive market and vB, at least in this release, has fallen way behind. They will eventually catch up but I'm afraid it will take them a year or more to even begin to reach IPB and another year to surpass if that's their goal.
And I know we can't judge a book by its cover because we really haven't seen the nuts and bolts of this new project yet. But I feel a stronger approach to making the face more appealing and modern would have silenced many critics and long time customers alike. I guess we're spoiled to having the best forum software on the market historically. This incarnation falls woefully short.

I don't have anything against the discussion guys but I'm afriad my thread will get deleted if you carry on.
I really don't want that to happen as I really need to see the CMS in action before buyingPlan, Do, Check, Act!Comment
