And thats my ONLY concern. But unfortunately vBulletin 4.0 doesn't support custom URL's, there are just 4 hard-coded URL formats which you have to choose from.
Sadly they did not implemented this when we were suggesting this from the beginning, despite of knowing how important it is.
They'll have to consider this for 4.0, no matter what.
In my opinion the reason that they do not allow custom URLs is because they cannot support an unlimited amount of mod_rewrite rules. They jsut have a base set that will work with their 4 format types and supply them with vBulletin.
As long as you can write your own htaccess I bet a simple hack will allow any URL format that you want.
I'm hoping for this because I have my own SEO url solution on my forum right now and want the URLs to stay similar.Comment

I am running vbseo. I wont make the switch to vbulletin seo solution until I am fully convinced the later works better. SEO is a very important area imo and the investment I made in vbseo was quite a lot for me. Jelsoft or vbseo staff should be providing us with a seo migration tool just like impex.Comment

I've said this before, but guess I'll say it again.
The new vBulletin SEO as well as the new CMS, can't even compete with vbseo or other CMS's like vbadvanced.
Both those companies have been working on SEO, or CMS for years. vBulletin is brand new to it. Not to say down the line the vBulletin SEO options won't be as good as the vBSEO ones, but as of now, I would find it hard to believe based on lack of experience.Comment

Lately I have started building links, which I really hate doing. And I just can't afford loosing them all at once.
Now don't tell me I can use a 301 redirect, coz... uff just don't tell me please. Its not about money, BUT where are the god damn features?

According to vbSEOs site, they will fully support VB 4.0 in their version 3.5
Just wondering how long it will take to release vbSEO 3.5 considering we are using version 3.3.1 now?
I certainly do not want to give up the enhancements provided by vbSEO.Comment

we need vb4.0 first, then vbseo will followComment

1. vBSEO focuses on achieving link consensus primarily (as they have always said) and I am pretty sure vBulletin 4 has taken enough care about this.
2. I love Relevant Replacements but I don't think it would be a very big thing to do without vBSEO.
3. Custom 404 page? Can be easily taken care of w/o vBSEO.
4. Permalinks on postbit? Already achieved in vb4.
5. META tags relevant to the page? Yet to fully achieve in vb4, but is quite easy to implement yourself.
Much of SEO aspects are covered if one write delicious templates.
So the only thing that comes to my mind is CRU's. Almost 100% of vBSEO users have static URL's, and as I see almost around 75% of vBulletin sites have vBSEO installed, that is one very important reason WHY vBulletin 4.0 should support this.
and btw this thing just clicked me that I have seen few of IB sites with vBSEO. So if they upgrade to vB4 (which I am sure they would) they'll obviously build a solution for this. I guess the right thing to do at this time, is to waittt. Its not about money, BUT where are the god damn features?

You must be kidding if you think VBSEO is installed on anywhere near that number of vBulletin licenses. Maybe 7.5%. Look at many large boards and you'll see they are stock and perform extremely well in Google. I'd think that vBulletin should be supporting customers first before vendors too.Comment

I basically meant that a significantly large number of vBulletin customers, do buy vBSEO. This is also based on a fact that the last 10 vBulletin installations that I did for 10 different people, 7 or 8 of them asked me to install vbseo as well.
