Perhaps once it's possible those of us who have paid could gain access to the test forum and be granted the ability to post there with out all the clutter of complainers this site has become? If someone had not been kind enough to link to this thread I would have never found it. Thank you for answering, I was beginning to think no one was answering questions simply because I can't find these type of informative threads unless I am lucky enough to stumble upon a link. If we could weed out all of those not willing to pay and seem to want to make that declaration in numerous threads, maybe without them, those of us who have committed to staying with VB and are happy with our product would have a place to genuinely discuss the product without all the speculation made up facts to sift thru.
Pre-Release Questions

Currently there is no plan to extend the pre-sale period.
vB5 is far too far in the future to state exactly what it's pricing will be. However, the plan is to continue the same structure as vB4, meaning that there likely will be a discount for vB4 owners who wish to upgrade to vB5.
The features of vB4 have been published extensively in the forums and blog. If there are more specific questions, we'll certainly try to answer them.
If you have an active owned license, your access to the members area will continue through the date of your expiration. If you upgrade to 4.0, your access will continue through the life of the version.
About your last paragraph. I made a site feedback thread about that.
Why does it say on the frontpage it's a free upgrade, but you say here it's a paid upgrade from active owned to version 4? Can you guys please review that and the thread and get back to me (in that thread please).
Thank you for this information, it already answered a few other questions.
Wow, what a bunch of info, hard to wrap brain around or understand, and figure out what the best situation and solutions and options are for my web sites in the long run.Comment

I get all the upgrade info straight in my head but I have a major concern. If the discount pricing is not in the shopping cart system yet and the clock is running out on the discount offer, Are we going to have to pay full price then wait for a refund on the difference? I just don't have that kind of money to ante up and it be in limbo.
Ray, I'm really concerned about this. When are the discount prices going to be in the shopping cart system? It's not our fault that they aren't. I personally think the time from the offer appeared to the time the discount prices get put in, should be added to the end of the offer time window. It's only fair I think....Comment

Will you back track and reset everyone's "year" when vb 4.0 is released vs the date of this sale?Comment

Ray, can you tell me, if I "upgrade" now using your pre-sale offer, when does my year start? I have read in the forums from someone that has already bought into vb 4.0 and they "time" has started yet they are not able to use it as it's not available.

It's nice to see a clean thread which isn't 90% full of raging garbage (though some did sneak in here). Most of my questions have been answered here. I'll post more in here if any are of big concern to me. I'd rather not take a chance starting a new thread.Comment

Notice that the V4 cms download asks for a urln does this mean that if you have a forum www.forum.com the CMS for that forum can reside at url www.abc.com whilst the forum associated with the CMS can still have the forum domain?Comment

I'm content to wait until the clock strikes midnight on the last day of Q4, however, I don't want to get into a situation in Q1 2010 where it's 'just a few more weeks'...
This is not a complaint - personally, I think the pricing is fine if the key features are delivered. I just want to be VERY clear on the security of my funds vs the delivery deadline so that I can make other plans for my business.
Thanks!Comment

^ or since I'm buying something site unseen, if it isn't what I really need, will the price be refunded and my license agreement be reverted to my original one?Comment

Once you've already downloaded the product, no refunds will be granted (and I have no problems with that), but I do feel that refunds should be granted prior to download if the live demo here at vb isn't what a customer wants...Comment

by Dennis OlsonI have two questions actually. I'll preface them with the fact that I understand the vB5x was intended to be released with functionality in "waves" (if you will). That is, the initial release...
