To get vB support on these forums you first need to be a licensed customer and register for Priority Forum Support. To do this, please go here:

...and enter your email address in one of the boxes. You'll need to have your customer number and password to access the page.

Once you've done this, please post in the appropriate support forum for your version.

That did not sound like a pre-sales question. Please explain.

my apologies, i did in fact used to use vbulletin about 2 years ago for a site i ran as part of a college course i was doing but i havent used it for a while.

to elaborate on my original question from a different perspective:

if user 'a' owns a 'social group' inside vbulletin and the admin runs a purge of inactive users, will said user's group be deleted?

I dont own vbulletin, my site uses phpbb but its growing quickly and im looking for a more powerful program to use.

Social groups sound perfect for a bit of extra functionality but with all massive sites there needs to be in built protection to stop thousands of inactive social groups existing but never being used. Even if social groups are relative to their owners account status this is fine by me as i can purge groups along with inactive owners, however the ability to purge inactive groups would be ideal - i.e groups with no activity for X days are deleted.

No variable needed. The Admin can delete any Social Group he or she wants. Why? This does not seem to be a 'pre-sales' type of question.

well, take offtopic.com for example which has a lot of users, if each user created a social group and never used it then that is a lot of unused social groups... a feature that allowed purging of unused social groups helps improved maintenance.

                  you guys seem so suspicious

There is a thin line between presales and support and you're dangerously close to the latter.

This has already been answered several times in different threads. Admins can remove Social Groups.

I'm not sure why that answer is unclear but there really is nothing to add to it.
