If you need a Professional Board and Support your choice only one: vBulletin

1) Code is more secure
2) Best support, fast and very professional, response in some minutes by Ticket system and community
3) The frontend and backend structure is very clear and ordered, all to advantage of the user.
4) Release some very swift updates for bug fixes
5) Best integration modification system without touch any code, just install/uninstall.

Feature wise they have just about the same give or take a few.

If you are looking for more of a professional forum software, vBulletin is right for you. You'll fine far more hacks with vBulletin.

If you are on a tight budget and are just trying to get off the ground without spending money (outside of hosting) upfront MyBB would be a good starting point.

It's really all about what you need. Both are good forum softwares, both have their pros and cons.

That is really not true. Whilst I am a fan of vBulletin and I am not considering using anything else, I think it's rather misleading to suggest that vBulletin is the only choice for someone who wants a professional board.

That is an absolutely ridiculous thing to say. That's the equivalent to saying "If this Mercedes doesn't have everything that the new BMW 3 series has, I'm taking it straight back to the dealership for a refund." Get real.

vB does NOT give refunds, so if you buy it and are unhappy with the product, it's your loss.

The best way to answer this question, IMO, is to try a few different forum demos and decide for yourself (how is it better or not).
