    Running VB

Okay, I am a HOME user. So, is it possible to use vBulletin on a home PC, and will it take up more than 5 GB?

Yes it's possible. No, a default install will only use a matter of megabytes. 10 from memory. However, you will also need to set up a web server, php and mysql on your home computer. You can do this using a package such as WAMPP.

Okay, so how do I get that? And what is cPanel? Seems like the easiest, most user-friendly way to set up MySQL.

You don't need cPanel to run it on a local computer. XAMPP will do all you need.

          Okay, now:

What would be a good hosting solution?

And after running the install script, does upgrade*.php mean ALL the upgrade files, or just one?

After install.php you do not have to worry about upgrade.php.

When you are upgrading your forum from x.y.3 to x.y.6 then you have to run only upgrade.php,it will upgrade automagicly from .3 > .4 > .5 > .6

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...
