Can you limit the amount of PM's a user can send per day, ie set it to 5 PM's per day unless the user is in a paid subscrition group and is allowed unlimited PM's to send

I take it that you get a header and a footer.php that i can add advertising banners into if i code it myself, is this correct?Comment

No - but you can add them directly into templates, or in the new 'ad locations' in 3.7Comment

Adding them to templates is far easier and better than editing php files
.
Also there are mods which allow you to select which usergroups see ads etc.- TomJamesComment
