    Limiting PM's

Can you limit the amount of PM's a user can send per day, ie set it to 5 PM's per day unless the user is in a paid subscrition group and is allowed unlimited PM's to send

Sorry, there is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

I take it that you get a header and a footer.php that i can add advertising banners into if i code it myself, is this correct?

No - but you can add them directly into templates, or in the new 'ad locations' in 3.7

Adding them to templates is far easier and better than editing php files .

Also there are mods which allow you to select which usergroups see ads etc.
