$30 for an additional year of updates

Ive had a bit of a search on this but cant see exactly what I need to know.

I have an owned licence and would like to continue having access to updates/the members area once my first (and second) year is up.

Can I only purchase one additional year for $30 or can I continue to pay $30 a year, indefinitely, to have continual access to the members area/updates?
