wanting to move to vbulletin from phpbb

Hi, new here, but I was a php-nuke user up until now.. yesterday due to the amount of phpnuke exploits unfortunatly my site was hacked into. I am looking to change CMS but I need to know some things first.

#1. Can I change over all my user accounts to vbulletin?

#2. Are there lots of mods/themes/addons for VB because I am one who likes to really get inside of the code and change things up to suit my sites needs..

#3. Is it more secure then PHPnuke

#4. Does it have an admin section?

#5. Does it have the ability to add side bars like phpnuke? either through a mod or something is fine too..

I plan on buying the vBulletin (Leased License)

    thanks ahead of time..

    Hi

First off, vBulleitn is primarily a forum software, and not a CMS.

    1. As far as I know phpnuke uses phpbb as it's forum system. phpBB users can be imported.

    2. Yes there are. Have a look at http://www.vbulletin.org

    3. We take security very seriously and there are no known security issues at this time. If we learn of a security issue we generally provide a fix within 24 hours.

    4. Yep. You can set up a free demo here to look around: http://www.vbulletin.com/admindemo

    5. This is not a default feature, but is possible throught template or code modifications.
    Best Regards

Everything is more secure than PHP-Nuke.

Most of the add-ons, and mods, to phpBB are built-in features of vBulletin. Many of the features you might want to add are available as plug-ins which are installed by uploading an XML file and maybe editing a template. Hacking up the original PHP files is rarely needed with vBulletin's Plugin system, which makes upgrading the software in case of a security flaw a piece of cake. Every one of the security flaws discovered in the last 2 years in vBulletin had a single file patch available within 24 hours.
