PHP 4.4.1 or higher, and MySQL 4.0.25

Although it doesn't say IN that thread, some devs and upgraders say that PHP 4.3 is useless for 3.6.x since it will not run on that version.

I'd use the latest version of MySQL if possible for a fresh install, if you are using PHP 5.1.4 then you wont notice too much of a performance difference compared to the 4.x series.

              Where do you read that?

              PHP and MySQL Requirements

Please note that vBulletin 3.6.0 requires at least PHP 4.3.3 and MySQL 4.0.16 or later.
That's a bit lower than what you are saying

Maybe if you checked other threads, ESPECIALLY the announcement thread (and holy cow, its a long thread), you'd find it?
