Considering buying but I need to know IP logging capabilities

I'm planning on buying vBulletin to use with my buy/sell/trade website. For that I think I'll need to have good security.

What is vB's tracking capabilities?

For example:

When a user registers, is the IP recorded?
What about when a user logs in, is the IP recorded?
Is the IP for posts and threads recorded?

By default vBulletin will log the IP's on registration and for each post/thread.

K cool, but what if a user has cookies and has autologin and returns to the site but then doesn't post, and then logs out.

Will the IP be logged then too? If it isn't is there anyway to enable that?

No, vBulletin doesn't log that. Doing so would require code modification.

There are many Free of Cost modifications released at vbulletin.org. If a coder like the idea and think it could be usefull to others also, he might even make one on request for free.

Can ip tracking be turned off?

If it is on and a thread is deleted, can ip's still be tracked via a log file?
