vB is VERY reasonable considering the tech support, security, and polished features. Complaining about the price won't bring it down.

Yeah, they're really unbelievable, aren't they?

I mean where else have you seen such a superior piece of software with such dedicated support for such a low price?

The prices aren't high at all, unless you pay yearly over several years. Obviously there is an encouragement to buy an owned license behind that .

Having said that, when you can get a lot of forum software for free, it 's comparatively expensive (well what isn't compared to free?) but you do get a much more professional package for the money. You get what you pay for

the prices they charge are a steal for US. Tech support is top notch, and upgrade help is too. How much does Windows XP cost? Hint. Its more than $30 a year to upgrade. What do you get, "TWO" tech calls before you start paying out the nose? I've gotten every dime of my money back from vB in tech support.

Um... 160 for lifetime liscense is not much. If you think it's too expensive... then why even try and make a successful website?

I own both Vbulletin and Invision Power Board (newest version of both) you do get what you pay for, in terms of support, Mods/Hacks and features.
Vbulletin is more, because they offer more on many levels- this was admitted to me by some of the IPB staff. IPB support is lackluster in my opinion. Their Software is ok, 2nd to Vbulletin- that says a lot for the forum software, if only their support and Mods community were more up to par..

If you think of getting a forum for some Simpsons fan forum then yes its pricey but if you have a serious website you hope be successful on this is not at all. what do you plan to do with your forum?

vB is dirt cheap. I've seen some forum systems that cost $500-$1000 and they're not any better.
