Distribution email

hi guy ... I'm just seeking around and find an a appropriate discussion board for online learning website. The main important requirement is the notified or distribution emails to all the users when someone has just posted a new message. Does vBulletin can able to do that?

Yes, vBulletin has post-reply digest. Which means if someone subscribes to a thread (discussion) and someone posts a reply the user can receive one of the digest options. Which can be subscribe without notification, subscribe with a notification. And the notification can be instant, daily or weekly.

Changes are you won't get a notification to your own reply, because you are replying 'while' you are on the thread. Which means you have read the post and then vBulletin doesn't feel you would require a notification.

Changes are however that you receive a notification because of my follow up reply.

hi .. many thanks for quick replied. What specification do the server require to post any emails? cdonts, cdosys or aspemail etc ...

vBulletin uses the internal mail function from PHP.
php.ini has the details for the mail server (usually sendmail)
