    GoDaddy hosting ok?

    Hello

I am trying to figure out if the godaddy.com servers support vbulletin. I called them up but they are no help. They don’t even know what vbulletin is!

They shoed me to this, but that doesn’t tell me if they support it or not.

I don’t know how to run those tests listed in the locked topic above. Am I just suppose to upload them into FTP?

EDIT: They dont support PHPnuke. I tryed to call me DB "nuke" and it was taken. I call them and they tell me only one person in the world can have that name on godaddy servers! Fakers!

I have never seen decent hosting from a domain registration company. The 'I called them up but they are no help' is the first and only clue you need. I recommend finding a real web host.

Do you know of a good host?

I need someone that owns the servers with 24/7 customer support. I need about 2,000MB disk and 100,000 bandw for about $9 a month if possible.

Honestly, I don't see that happening.

Neither do I. That's too much to expect for $9/mo. Nonetheless you should check webhostingtalk.com for advice about hosts.

70 GB traffic per month for $6 .. sounds too good to be true. And I have never heard of vizaweb.com before either.

Note: We have a hosting forum where users share their experiences, so might be handy to check it out - and otherwise browse webhostingtalk.com

cbiweb, if you bothered to read the original post, you'd see that www.aSmallOrange.com is out of his price range. $20/mo for 2500MB of webspace.

Fine, but there's no need to be rude about telling me. I did read his post and did see his price range (which is in his second one, not his original one), but to my knowledge there is no quality hosting for the price he wants. It was only a suggestion, not a command; he does not have to follow it.

Actually they (ASO) have 1000mb and 25Gb of band for $10 a month. That might be ok for my site. I ran out of 8gb of band 3days before the end of this month

Are they really good and own the servers?

They own the servers, and are very good to work with. One their best features is that if you happen to go over your bandwidth for the month, they will NOT automatically shut you off. They have a couple different ways of handling it, but you will still be online for your visitors. Uptime is excellent, and support is fast to respond, and friendly. They have good support forums, and the staff is always hanging around for quick answers.

Due to some personal cutbacks I had to cancel my account with them temporarily, so I gain nothing by promoting their service. I just know they are good, and you would not be disappointed. But if you want to give someone credit for a referral, mention Shining Arcanine, who referred me in the first place.
