    New MySql Licensing model

Ok, mysql has a new license policy, if the code is open source, mysql is free. If the code is not open source, like vB, you must license it.

So my question is who pays, me or vbulletin?

What policy is this? PHP is what calls the mysql libraries and it is open source.

If I knew I wouldn't ask. They just did this. Perhaps this will help...

Maybe it don't affect us at all, but I'd like to know.

      Thanks

For what it is worth, the MySQL Licensing model is not new. In fact it is almost three years old. The page you linked to has simply been updated with new text recently.

Basically it requires anyone who uses the MySQL libraries that isn't using a recognised Open Source license to purchase a license.

PHP is what is using the MySQL libraries, not vBulletin which hence makes us exempt.

            Thanks for explaining Scott.

Wayne, I got the info just the other day here.

Seems this was instituted at 4.0.

            Thanks for the help.
