More and more hobbyists are making sites that are no longer geocities poxy homepages.
Like me, they are getting onto their own servers and having a go at a professional standard setup.
However I don't think that vBulletin are matching this.
Having now worked for a large Multi National the main thing that stands up between "web" software and networked software is the installation and customisation guides.
For instance, I have just finished installing and customising a Knowledge Base - what was so good about this was the walk throughs and tutorials done in flash. No one reads a manual, that's yesterday's news.
If you want people to get the most out of the product, which will in turn make them happier with the features and more satisfied with the cost to feature ratio, then I would suggest flash walk throughs to be something you look into.
Kind Regards,
